This training will provide you with essential skills and knowledge to transform your research and academic career into an industry. It will equip you with the knowledge and understanding of developing a business plan, science communication, and relationship management. To start your industrial career, you need specific business and highly specialised skills to work in a commercial environment. These skills cannot be acquired in the academic and research environment. The goal of this internship is to develop these commercial and business skills. This 8-week training is designed to equip you with the skills you need to become successful in a commercial environment. It will train you to work in an international and competitive business environment.
Through the 8-week virtual training, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills required to work in the industry. It aims to provide essential knowledge for developing your early industrial career.
The online distance-learning raining will provide opportunities to receive expertise from the Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development (CamCID) team. This programme includes eight weeks of skill-based tasks.
You will gain knowledge of writing a business plan. You will develop your skills and learn to develop your own business ideas, marketing strategies, and products.
During task 2, you will gain experience in research management including management of project resources, managing risks, and budget.
In task 3, you will learn about science communication and effective engagement. You will be involved in event management including planning and managing conferences.
You will create business growth through building relationships or collaboration opportunities. You will learn to manage existing relationships and create new ones.

A minimum of 12 months of education in any science-related subject, business, management, or other relevant areas is recommended. Alternatively, you can get the minimum qualification by successfully completing any of our Specialization.
The mentioned qualification requirement is for guidance and it is required to successfully complete the virtual internship. All our training and courses are taught in English. You must have good English language skills.
This virtual training is designed to aid professional development in a commercial environment, enabling you to transform your research or academic career into industrial and commercial environment.
After successfully completing all the given tasks, you will be provided with an e-certificate for completing a virtual internship at Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development (CamCID).
This virtual training is delivered on Moodle Learning platform. This virtual training is designed by the CamCID Management and Business Development Team (Professionals from multiple high-ranked universities).
You will be offered the virtual training place after the registration fee is paid by following 'Register Now'. However, we may close the registration early if all the available places are filled. Therefore, early registration is highly recommended.
