This training will provide you with essential skills and knowledge to become a successful Pharmacologist. It will also provide you with the knowledge and understanding of performing literature reviews in pharmacology, synthesis and drug design, molecular and cellular mechanisms. To stay competitive in the field of pharmacology research, universities and organizations need experienced pharmacologists with research skills and an understanding of cutting-edge research methods. This 4-week training is designed to equip you with the knowledge you need to apply in pharmacology research. It will train you to perform research in an international research environment.
Through the 4-week virtual training, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills required to participate in pharmacology research. It aims to provide essential knowledge for developing your early research career.
The online distance-learning training will provide opportunities to receive expertise from the Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development (CamCID) researchers. This programme includes four weeks of research-based tasks.
During the first week of your research internship, you will gain experience in literature reviewing and finding articles using research databases and search engines.
You will gain knowledge of writing your research proposal. You will develop your research idea in week 2 and learn to develop a research plan for your own idea.
In week 3, you will learn to perform data analysis and statistical analysis in research. You will be given different research tasks to perform data analysis.
You will work on a short literature review project and apply your knowledge of pharmacology in your project. The project aims to improve your academic writing, research, critical thinking, and literature search skills.

A minimum of 6 months of education in cell biology, biochemistry, genomics, or other relevant areas is recommended. Alternatively, you can acquire the minimum qualification by successfully completing our PCert - Clinical Trial and Drug Development.
The mentioned qualification requirement is for guidance and it is required to successfully complete the virtual internship. All our online training and courses are taught in English. You must have good English language skills.
This virtual training is designed to aid professional development in the field of pharmacology and drug discovery research, enabling you to further your expertise within an existing career path or to change career direction, for example, into Pharmacologist.
After successfully completing all the tasks of 4 weeks, you will be provided with an e-certificate for completing a virtual internship at Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development (CamCID).
This virtual training is delivered on Moodle Learning platform with a mentorship session during the internship.
It is designed by the CamCID Research Team (graduates and researchers from multiple high-ranked universities).
