Overview

 

This training will provide you with essential skills and knowledge to become a successful Artificial Intelligence (AI) researcher. It will equip you with the knowledge and understanding of performing literature reviews in machine learning and deep learning in cancer research, medical imaging, and biotechnology. To stay competitive in the field of AI and machine learning, universities and organizations need experienced AI experts with research skills and an understanding of cutting-edge machine learning methods. This 4-week training is designed to equip you with the knowledge you need to apply in AI research. It will train you to perform research in an international research environment. 

 

Through the 4-week virtual training, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills required to participate in AI research. It aims to provide essential knowledge for developing your early research career in this field.

 

Journey

 

The online distance-learning training will provide opportunities to receive expertise from the Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development (CamCID) researchers. This internship includes four weeks of research-based tasks.

 

Week 1: Literature review 

During the first week of your research internship, you will gain experience in literature reviewing and finding articles using research databases and search engines.

 

Week 2: Developing a research proposal

You will gain knowledge of writing your research proposal. You will develop your research idea in week 2 and learn to develop a research plan for your own idea. 

 

Week 3: Data analysis

In week 3, you will learn to perform data analysis and statistical analysis in research. You will be given different research tasks to perform data analysis.

 

Week 4: Research project

You will work on a short literature review project and apply your knowledge of AI in cancer research or medical imaging in your project. The project aims to improve your academic writing, research, critical thinking, and literature search skills.

Entry Requirements

 

A minimum of 6 months of education in computer science, biomedical science, biotechnology, medicine, or other relevant scientific areas is recommended. Alternatively, you can acquire the minimum qualification by successfully completing our PCert - Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.

 

This internship can be also performed in our Specialization in AI & Robotics in Medicine Research.

 

The mentioned qualification requirement is for guidance and it is required to successfully complete the virtual internship. All our online training and courses are taught in English. You must have good English language skills.

This virtual training is designed to aid professional development in the field of cancer biology, immunology, gene editing in cancer research, and/or cancer therapeutics research, enabling you to further your expertise within an existing career path or to change career direction, for example, into cancer researcher.

 

Certificate of Completion

 

After successfully completing all the tasks of 4 weeks, you will be provided with an e-certificate for completing a virtual internship at Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development (CamCID).

 

Delivery and Development

 

This virtual training is delivered on Moodle Learning platform with mentorship support provided during the tasks.

 

It is designed by the CamCID Research Team (graduates and researchers from multiple high-ranked universities).

You will be offered the virtual training place after the registration fee is paid by following 'Register Now'. However, we may close the registration early if all the available places are filled. Therefore, early registration is highly recommended.
