This Professional Certificate (PCert) course will provide you with knowledge of the cellular and molecular basis of cancer therapeutics such as gene editing. You will gain knowledge about the biology behind ZFN, TALENS, and CRISPR. You will also explore the latest applications and advances in cancer therapeutics.
In the first two modules, you’ll develop your core scientific and experimental skills across the breadth of cancer therapeutics including an overview of the latest cancer immunotherapy research and gene editing in cancer therapy.
In the last two modules, you will learn about the advances and recent applications of cancer therapeutics. You will also have the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to work on a final project. This will give you the opportunity to develop your skills further in cancer research and therapeutics. This PCert is also a part of our 16-week Specialization + internship programme.
The online distance-learning delivery of the course will provide opportunities to receive expertise from the Cambridge Centre for Innovation and Development (CamCID) researchers, material from our partners, and guest lectures.
Explore the basic biology of cancer immunotherapy.
Learn about the biology and processes of gene editing in cancer therapy (ZFN, TALENS, and CRISPR) and cancer immunotherapy.
Explore advances in cancer therapeutics and recent development.
Apply your knowledge of gene editing and cancer immunotherapy in a final project.
UK and International: £159 (total including electronic certificate).
This is a mid-level course and basic knowledge of biomedical science and cancer biology or related area is recommended. This course is designed for all levels of students (undergraduate degree, Master's degree students, or PhDs). We also suggest taking our PCert in Cancer Biology and Immunology Research course for acquiring basic knowledge of cancer biology. All our PCert courses are taught in English. You must have good English language skills.
This course is designed to aid professional development in the field of cancer research, enabling you to further your expertise within an existing career path or to change career direction.
After completing this PCert, you can also progress to our Specialization certificate + internship programme.
